Frequently Asked Questions
Will I get a receipt for my donation?
Yes. Income tax receipts are issued at the end of the fiscal year.
Can I write a cheque or give a cash donation directly to the church?
Donations can be put on the collection plate or dropped off at the church anytime.
How will the family of a memorial donation know that I gave a donation?
The church secretary sends a note with your name and address to the respective family. The amount you donated is not shared.
I can’t afford to donate. Can I still be a member of Christ Church?
Most definitely. We believe God has blessed us all in different ways and recognize we have different size bank accounts. There are many other ways to contribute.
How can I get involved (volunteer my time) to the church?
There are a number of ways to serve in the church. Discuss with our minister your desire and the gifts or talents you have to offer. Also members of the congregation can help you find your niche.
Does the church still have weekly offering envelopes available?
Weekly offering envelopes are available and can be obtained from the church secretary.
Is there an Electronic Offering Program available?
To sign up for the monthly Electronic Offering Program. Download the Donor Registration/Amendment Form or obtain it from the church. Complete the information requested. Attach a voided cheque to the completed form. Mail the completed form and voided cheque to the Diocese of Algoma office (address below OR give it to the church (put on offertory plate or give to church office).

Can I specify an area I want my donation to be applied?
Yes. You can write a note i.e. on your cheque or in the message box with e-transfer or on the Donor Registration/Amendment Form where you wish your donation to be applied. For example you may choose Church Operating Fund or Missions as a couple of options.
